SenCere Medical is working to prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcers by providing innovative medical devices.

Pressure ulcers cost the Swedish health care system SEK 1.5 billion annually, and causes great suffering for more than 10 000 people each year in Sweden alone. The occurrence of pressure ulcers are often associated with neglect, and the only measure currently available is to continually relieve the affected areas. Experts agree that the best way to treat pressure ulcers is to prevent their occurrence through repositioning the patient to avoid the harmful pressure.

SenCere’s product development is based on our own clinical research in which the physiological mechanisms of pressure ulcer formation are studied, and the results are used to develop a relief alarm, currently under development. SenCere has carried out a study with some 120 volunteers and recently completed development of an operative prototype. First field test are performed during 2010. Please contact us to find out more.
